Presentation PhD research at NVTG Symposium

Friday October 28th, I presented the findings of my PhD research about school-based sexuality education in Uganda at the NVTG symposium 'On the Move'. The session was organised by Share-Net Netherlands, and focused on the implications of SRHR research for policy and practice. In my presentation, I concluded that teachers can feel vulnerable to teach comprehensive sexuality education. Therefore, I recommended that sexuality education implementing organisations should focus on creating enabling school environments that support teachers to provide comprehensive sexuality education.  Click here for my presentation.

Policy Brief Addressing Women’s Need for Contraception and Abortion – Share-Net Netherlands

I am member of the Share-Net thematic group Contraception and Abortion. In 2015, we organized a symposium to discuss current and emerging issues on contraception and abortion and to formulate recommendations for research, policy and practice. The outcomes were translated into a policy brief, which I have co-edited. The policy brief explains why and how researchers, practitioners and policy makers can address the gap in women’s access to contraception and safe abortion.
